"The Grim Pill" Oh, I feel so awful today Working on a problem in the very worst way. Looping through my brain Wishing for someone to tell me, "You're not going insane." Found Down in green They all stop to talk on me Namu Amida Butsu x2 Light fragments strike my skin Risking loss of heat Sharing in the joy of everything Taking in the moment of release In a pocket underground Took myself below and tried to stay. Woke up in the dark Short of an intention, and an urge to get away. Found Down in grey They all stop to talk on me Namu Amida Butsu x2 Light fragments strike my skin Risking loss of heat Sharing in the joy of everything Taking in the moment of

"Poisson Distribution" Plain as day: we can see the way the fragrance sways in the window; floating dust motes collapsed and broken, frozen open and stoned to the point of no repair, all the air flowing like crows across a crystal clear screen disgorged and bleeding its dreams up on everything, and I see: the rocks rose up to the closed door; oceans pour through the hole in the heart. Overture to the spinning wheel: recordings waver on the skin as the light spills on the walls, and gravity falls on the hard spine -- bending its mind -- rainbow'd and driving a path through the shy, hard vine to find the inner rind.

"Isn't It Pretty To Think So?" Take the time to feed All the light you freed All good desires do best When you've been looking away Moan a moment as you ride Floating by the seaside All good desires do best When you've been looking away - silence - crows don't know the ocean like You do slow enough to drown us to sleep don't ignore my eyes, you told me He was home The air was yours to own All the rest was on loan All good desires do best When you've been looking away You're potent for a piece A moment of release All good desires do best When you've been looking away crows don't know the ocean like You do slow enough to drown us to sleep "don't ignore my eyes," you told me

about

Musically the idea for this record was for every song to be based on my jaguar tuned to DADGAD cranking through my Fender Bassbreaker 15. Every electric guitar track on this album features this combo. Jaguar's rule- and are a lot more useful than many guitarists think. Also, each song on here, except Consilience, is based on Caleb and I playing together live- with me on the jaguar and Caleb on drums. While we've done other projects as distance based by mail file swapping, I wanted the core of this record to be based on our live interplay as well as the many spontaneous discisions that one makes when jamming out a tune live. Compared to our other releases I think this core live performance gives each song a more spontaneous feel. Many of the performances are far from perfect, but that was the idea really! I resisted the temptation to quantize drums, edit fills, autotune vocals etc.
